Mnemora Privacy Policy
Effective October 3, 2026
Who we are
Mnemora (the web app at mnemora.happyheartsoftware.com) is made by Happy Heart Software LLC, doing business as Happy Heart Software, based in Ohio, USA ("Happy Heart Software", "we", "us"). This policy covers Mnemora only.
What stays on your device
- Your decks and cards, including cards you create or edit, tags, and your study notes.
- Your study history: when you reviewed each card, how you rated it, which hints you used, and when it's due next.
- Your settings, such as motion preferences and study limits, and which version of the study disclaimer you accepted, and when.
This is kept in your browser's storage on your device (IndexedDB). We never receive it, so we can't see it, recover it or restore it for you. Mnemora also saves its own app files on your device so it works offline.
Backups
Settings, Your data, Export backup saves everything as one file that you keep wherever you choose. Backup files aren't encrypted, so store them somewhere you trust. Restore reads a backup file on your device; the file isn't uploaded anywhere.
Health information
Mnemora teaches about medications as a study subject. It's for learning only and isn't medical advice. Mnemora never asks about your own health, conditions or medications, and it has no feature for tracking them. Please keep personal health details out of your study notes. If you add them anyway, they stay on your device. If you're in crisis in the US, call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
Contacting us
The contact link in Mnemora opens our contact form at forms.happyheartsoftware.com, outside the app. If you send it, your email address, the topic you pick, your message and your name (optional) are delivered to our inbox through Heartforms, our own form service, which keeps a copy so we can answer you. The form page loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser information when you open it. Please don't include personal health information. The Email us link opens your own email app instead.
Updates to the app
When you open Mnemora, it checks mnemora.happyheartsoftware.com for a newer version and asks before updating. This sends nothing about you beyond the request itself.
What we don't do
There are no ads, analytics, tracking or crash reporting, and Mnemora doesn't set cookies. The app contains no third-party code that contacts other companies: its fonts are part of the app, and it never loads pictures from the internet, even if a card links to one. We don't sell your information or share it for advertising.
If we ever add a feature that uses an outside service, such as searching a public research database, it will be off until you turn it on, and Mnemora will tell you exactly what would be sent, and to whom, before anything is sent.
Analytics
Mnemora doesn't use any analytics tool, whether our own or another company's. It doesn't count visits, record which screens or features you use, or give you an identifier, and it contains no tracking code. The only records of visits are the standard request logs our hosting provider keeps for security, described under Services involved below.
Services involved
- Cloudflare hosts the app and keeps request logs, including IP addresses, for security. We don't use Cloudflare Web Analytics in Mnemora.
- Heartforms, our own form service, receives contact form messages and keeps a copy until we delete it. It runs on Cloudflare and sends the email through Resend. Our inbox is hosted by Google Workspace.
Deleting your data
- Delete any card or deck in the app.
- Settings, Your data, Delete all my data permanently erases everything Mnemora stored on that device. We can't undo it.
- Uninstalling the app, or clearing this site's data in your browser, also removes everything Mnemora stored on that device.
- To delete messages you sent us, email contact@happyheartsoftware.com.
Children
Mnemora isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. Mnemora doesn't collect personal information from anyone. Some study content discusses medications and mental health and is written for older teens and adults. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Email contact@happyheartsoftware.com and we'll help. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, and we'll honor them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top. If a change affects how Mnemora handles your information, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
